I need to repair an installation of windows XP Media Center Edition for my friend. However, I can't buy one, it's not distributed to retailers, never was.

Wikipedia says it's based off of Windows XP Professional. Could I use a Windows XP Professional install disc to repair the installation? Or any other windows XP disc?

I don't believe that would work. MS isn't very flexible in that way. Is there a recovery partition on the HD?
Or, perhaps if you post the problems with the machine, you'll find help here anyway. :wave:wave
