I did not make system recovery disk and now my computer crashed.
Where I can download system recovery disk on a CD for windows XP pro?
Microsoft has a download page only for floppy discs, not for CD.
    Thanks

    More information.

When i turn on my laptop on blank screen message reads:

PXE-E61 Media test failure, check cable
    PXE-MOF exiting intel boot agent
    Insert system disk in drive
    Press any key when ready

Contact the PC manufacturer. They may have recovery discs available.

Boot up and go into the BIOS. You need to change the boot order.
PXE shows that the computer is trying to boot from a network and not the hard drive. You need to put the hard drive in the first position. Exit the BIOS, saving changes.
If it still will not boot from the hard drive, perhaps the hard drive is bad or the cable connecting the hard drive to the motherboard is bad. Those two things should also be checked.

Thanks for replies. I tried what plodr suggested but it still does not boot from hard drive. This is a old laptop - Satellite 1860 SA170P. But it works for me because i use for internet. I guess it just died out.

Try re-seating the hard drive in the laptop as plodr suggested. If the hard drive failed and you do not want to invest in a new one because of the laptop's age, you can still run a small OS system inside of RAM. Puppy Linux is good for this. Download and burn the iso file. Then boot the CD. It should recognize your hardware and wireless adapter. You can save any data on a USB flash drive.
