I`ll explain the best I can:

So my computers been being attacked by the this virus. Finally got it off, by now alot of programs won`t open unless I specify a program to open it, or they will post a error. Like for example when I go to control panel to fix all this with a "windows update", when I click on update it says:

    "C:/WINDOWS/system32/rundll32exe application not found"

a error message like this appears for ALOT of programs when I try to open them, very few will take to a "open with..." kind of screen which is how my mozilla is working
Its like this for alot of programs, even system restore. What can I do, can`t even download internet explorer keeps crashing when I try to open it to update windows. Help???

    Hi,

Download the EXE fix from here. Unzip and then go into the folder and right-click the file and select MERGE. Acknowledge the warning and let it merge with the registry.

That should get your programs running.

One last quick question though, when I go to get windows update on internet explorer I get this:

"The website has encountered a problem and cannot display the page you are trying to view. The options provided below might help you solve the problem.
    [Error number: 0x80070424]"

    What up with that???

That is a harder question. I think I just saw a thread similar to that--I'll take a look.

One thing you may want to do is reboot your computer to see if the file association fix sticks. If after rebooting you can't run programs again it could be a sign that you did not completely get rid of your virus/malware or sometimes it is related to SuperAntiSpyware causing a problem with some XP installations. Did you use that program?

    You can also try:

Start -> Run -> type in cmd and hit OK. In the command window Copy and paste the following command into the window and then hit <enter>. %SYSTEMROOT%\SYSTEM32\REGSVR32.EXE %SYSTEMROOT%\SYSTEM32\WUAUENG.DLL Reboot and try running windows update again.

It may not work but it won't hurt. It just re-registers win update.

I can`t tell if those worked (tried both) cause now for some reason when I try to access the site for updates I get this:

"Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage"

    wtf lol

Does that happen on on the Windows Update page or does it happen on other pages as well?

Go to start then run and type the following (one at a time, hitting enter after each entry)
    REGSVR32 WUAPI.DLL
    REGSVR32 WUAUENG1.DLL
    REGSVR32 ATL.DLL
    REGSVR32 WUPS2.DLL
    REGSVR32 WUCLTUI.DLL
    REGSVR32 WUPS.DLL
    REGSVR32 WUWEB.DLL
    REGSVR32 WUAUENG.DLL

Then reboot and try Windows Update again.
