    Help!
I am trying to do a repair but Windows seems to have hanged.

it seems stuck at 2/3 of the way installing devices, and at 34 minutes left. The info on the right, telling you all the wonderful things XP does, changes and the boxes in the bottom right corner are active, and there seems to be some hard drive activity but not much, but the time to complete etc does nothing.

I have tried restarting repair but it gets stuck at the same place.

Please answer asap as I am close to just saying to hell with it and reformatting and reinstalling, which I am loathed to do if I can help it.

Windows repair install doesn't always work unfortunately. You could try removing everything removable (modem, sound, networkcard...extra hard drives..) and trying again. You could even try with a simpler graphics card if you have one. If the install 'takes' you can then re introduce the other stuff one at a time until you find the culprit and then troubleshoot from working windows.

Something is happening as it is now only 33 mins to complete....wonder if Microsoft confused hours with minutes!!!!

Let it finish running, could take an hour. Sometimes it takes awhile.
