    Computer configuration:

    Epox Optimus EP-AD580 XR *
    AMD Athlon X2 64 4000+ *
    Kingmax 1 GB DDR2 RAM *
    Seagate Barracuda 160 GB
    ATI Radeon X850 PRO
    Liteon DVDRW
    Pioneer DVDR

I have done a hardware upgrade and cant get past the loading screen, i get BSOD and it restarts after a few seconds. Safe mode works normal.
upgraded components are marked with *

EDIT:I suspected my power supply was the problem so i tried disconnecting my optical drives but then the computer gets stuck while displaying "Detecting drives" and cant even get to the loading screen.
I would appreciate any advice on this one.

You mention a hardware upgrade. I see you've installed a new motherboard, RAM, and CPU. If you're running WinXP, you'll get a BSOD when you try to boot to the Windows that was installed with the previous motherboard. WinXP has a way 'bonding' with your hardware (esp. motherboards) and when swapped out, Windows gets very unhappy. You'll need to reload your Windows 'over the top' of itself so that new hardware files can be installed for your new hardware. If done correctly, you shoudn't lose any data, shortcuts, or personal settings, but it's a good idea to back up anything considered important just in case. Be sure to install the new motherboard drivers IMMEDIATELY after you finish the safe reload of Windows....

I tried to reinstall Windows XP, the setup loads all the needed drivers, but after that i get the same BSOD followed by a computer reset. I have also tried using a new HDD (Maxtor 80GB) and the results were the same. After that i installed both HDDs on another computer and they worked properly so there shouldnt be a problem with those or the Windows installation.
Any other suggestions on what may be the cause of this?

How about posting the BSOD info? The error code (0x0000007F for example) and any filenames listed. You may want to double check all your cables connections, and make sure the RAM sticks are seated correctly; maybe pop 'em out, and switch the order around, and pop 'em back in; or just use one stick, then another if the errors continue. Anyway, check all yer cables, connections, RAM sticks, PCI cards: reseat everything, and post the BSOD info, and we'll do our best best for you!

First i rechecked if everything was connected propery and then i wanted to try out these new components i with a few older ones i had before posting BSOD infos. After a whole day of messing around with it , i finally got to the problem.
It seems that the new mb i bought was faulty/damaged so i went back to the shop and replaced it with a new one. Everything seems to be working so far :)
Anyway, thanks for your time and all the suggestions , they were quite helpful.
