Windows XP right-click menu

    We all know and love the XP context menu; you know, the menu that comes up when you right click on something.... my question is this: how do I remove entries from this menu? I'm working on a PC, and some apps were uninstalled via Add/Remove Programs. That went smoothly, but some of these apps left their options in the context menu and I want to remove these listings. How?

    Could go manual and edit them from the registry...

    Click Start > Run > type regedit and click ENTER and drill down to the following: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers


    or
    http://www.lopesoft.com/en/fmtools/info.html
    their is another one I have used but cannot remember it at this point or find where I saved the file, but was from a Microsoft MVP

    You can either get Powertoys from Microsoft or edit the registry manually.

    HKclasses_root\allfilesystemobjects\shellex\contextmenuhandlers


    or just go to HKLM\allusers\Halo

    Remembered one other contextmenu editor I have used, http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/shexview.html

    Having a relook at the registry some could be here also HKCR\<ProgID>\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\ (progID is the name of the app)

    Thanks guys! I figured there had to be reg key, but I didn't have any idea what to use for Google search terms to find out what it was. And thanks for the app links too. I'll give 'em a look tonite after work....
