Windows XP - "run as"?

I have a shortcut for a program located in my start menu. I've been using this shortcut for years now but, recently I clicked on it and a window came up telling me the program can't be found. I know the program is there so, I deleted that shortcut and created a new one.

Now, when I click on the new shortcut, I get a window that pops up entitled, "run as", asking me which user account I want to use to run this program! Did I make some change that caused this to happen? I am the administrator on this computer and am using my account. I visited the microsoft site but any mention of the "save as" command is instructions on how to use it, not why it pops up all of a sudden!

There are other users on this computer as well and I would like for them to be able to use the program...without the "save as" window popping up too!

 

Sorry, you switched between "Run as" and "Save as" half way through your post. Which one do you actually mean?

 

Ooops...my bad, I sure did! I meant "run as"... :-o

Anyway, I went back to the shortcut and right-clicked on it to bring up the "properties" dialog. From there, I clicked on the "Advance" button and found that the box for "Run with different credentials" was checked. I unchecked that box and now everything is working fine...with that shortcut!

I'm not sure how this came about....I assumed it was default when creating a shortcut, but from what I've read, this is not a default setting running in normal mode! :confused

Anyway, thanks collinsl for taking the time to inquire about my post...I apologize for the confusion and if you see anything in my reasoning that I'm overlooking...feel free to straighten me out!
