Windows XP SP2 services

I was reviewing my services the other night--something I do on occation to help keep my system running smooth as well as teach myself some things, & I came across 3 that I can't find anything on the net to help explain sufficiently:

I2onhciruwii

IAA event monitor &

WMDM management Instrumentation

Does anyone here know what these are/ what they do? Especially the first one, which has me more than a wee bit concerned, due to the naming & no other infor except that its set to "automatic" (as are the other 2 as well).

That first one is suspect. Have you installed any new software? Added any new hardware?

Ran any spyware/virus scans recently?

 

Try disabling and stopping the I2onhciruwii service and see if it messes with any programs you have installed. You can always restart the service.

Yep- I agree with Kniht; that first one seems a bit strange. Generally, when you look at a service, you can figure out what it is or does just by the name or abbreviation. But that first one appears to be a random string of characters which seems to be a malware favorite. They re-generate themselves using a different random string each time, making removal very difficult in most cases A visit to the malware removal forum (as suggested above) is highly recommended.
