    Hi there,
I have recently downloaded service pack 2 from microsoft update and after installation my computer start-up is running very slow. ie my computer takes ages to start up, approximatly twice as long.
I was just wondering is this usual, and if not how can i speed it up.
    Here are my system details:

    Microsoft Windows XP
    Home Edition
    Version 2002
    Service Pack 2

    AMD Athlon(tm) XP
    1.25 GHz, 448mb of RAM

You might try following these instructions to tweak your computer for performance and lower your resource consumption.

You may also want to consider deleting the files in C:\windows\prefetch (especially entries for programs you seldom use), as this should help improve your boot times.
