Windows XP SP3 installation frozen

    im installing windows xp SP3 as I type this but its frozen at the performing cleanup stage. I dunno if I should stop it through task manager or try to wait it out. its been over an hour. I really hope this doesnt screw up my PC. Can anyone give me some advice?
