    Hi,

I have a phenomonon which started recently. Whenever I reboot my XP SP3 desktop it resets the Display Color Property to 8 Bit. Did I change something without knowing? I have no idea what started this.

    Any advise will be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Tom

It sounds like your video driver has been uninstalled, corrupted, or is just "on permamnent vacation". If you can take a look at the Device Manager, and post any yellow question marks ? or exclamation points ! that you see, we'll try to help. Also include the make/model of your PC along with the type of Windows you're using (Windows XP, Windows 2000, Vista, etc). Even if the Device Manager is clean, post this info and we should be able to do something.
    ;)

(BTW- right click My Computer > Properties > Hardware > Device Manager if using Windows XP/2000 to view the Device Manager; Vista is VERY similar)

    Good morning,
Thanks for the quick response. I am using Windows XP Professional SP3 Build 2600. I have downloaded and installed the most current video driver.

There are no question marks on the device manager.

My PC was custom built by a local computer store. He has tried to replace the graphics card and mother board to no avail. He installed a slave hard drive containing only windows and the problem gets solved. Once we reinstall my hard drive the problem returns.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
