Windows XP Start Up

    When I start up my PC I can get as far as the desk top and then my PC freezes up. I can open up task manager and restart it. I fI do this enough eventually it will start-up and work untill it is shut down again. Any ideas as to what might be causing this?

    Do you have this problem in "SAFE" mode? If not, you have a corrupt piece of code. Go into msconfig.exe and trun everyhting off and turn them back on one at a time until it does the same thing.
