Windows XP welcome screen problem

Hello. I posted in the hardware section on a problem I was having with sound while playing DVD's. Well, there is another problem that developed after I installed my video card as well. All of a sudden now when my computer boots up, instead of going directly to my desktop, it now stops at the welcome screen and I have to click on my name to get to the desktop now (kind of like what multiple user PC's have to do). I don't know why this does this now, but I was wondering if anyone knows how to bypass this and have my computer go directly to the desktop after boot without stopping on the welcome screen and having me have to click on my name to continue to the desktop. To change your login settings, click Start > Run (Windows Key+R) and type control userpasswords2. Uncheck the box next to Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer.

 

Thank you for taking the time to help me. Interestingly this fix had no effect. What is happening is that my computer is a one user computer (myself only) but is now loading directly to a screen that you have to click on your name to enter windows. I don't get this...... It happened after I installed a new video card. It is terribly annoying because loading the desktop now requires a click on my name rather than the way it was in which the desktop would just load after boot up. I don't get this. I would appreciate any other suggestions as my own research has proven useless. Your help is valued greatly. Thanks again.

 

Try again. You have to select your name before unchecking the box. So re-check the box then select your login then uncheck the box.
