Windows XP will not boot either safemode or regular mode

    I am unable to get this system to Boot into Safemode.

    The following erroer pops up on the screen:
    Isass.exe - Application Error
    The application failed to initiater properly (0x0000142). Click OK to terminiater the application.

    If I click OK all I get is a black screen!

    Have you tried Last Known Good Configuration?
    You also need to mention the brand and model of computer.
    Do you have any restore disks or a windows disk?

    I assumed you knew what you were doing, sorry:

    Try using Ultimate Boot CD.

    Try a Linux Live DVD and see if the computer runs to elimiate hardware as a probelm.

    You can buy a USB to SATA\IDE to try and recover your data and reinstall Windows.

    Where can I get a boot CD?

    This computer had a OS upgrade to XP Home and I do not have the Windows CD!

    How do I make this ISO a bootable CD?

    I have Nero 6.3

    When I go to bootable disc it wants to save in a different location.

    Dont have Nero but look for burn image. If no luck BurnAware is free, lightweight and easy to use.

    I got it burned now tomorrow I will run it and hopefully I can get into either Windows or the comand promp.
