   I lost my win xp cd, but i still got my cd-key. can I use it on a downloaded version of win xp, or it is considered illigal ?

   I'm pretty sure that just downloading WinXP from the web (a P2P type site I'm assuming) is illegal, and the copy you download is likely to be pirated and/or infected w/ viruses. Borrow a CD from a friend, just use your key from the sticker when installing.
