windows xp

so i got a pretty bad virus off download.com i had to go out and get a external hard drive and all to pull everything over once i got a sata to usb....thats all said and done...my prob is i had to reformat the partition and windows would not allow me to validate the activation....so i was stumped...i entered the code and did about 6-9 rounds with the automated voice deal till i said screw it give me a person....so im stuck with some guy that does not speak english all that well....he is telling me my code is for windows xp media edition and i told him no...i loaded the xp home edition i have the disc right in my hands....this is the product code and all....so he tells me sir your not right and this seems fishy...told him look im reading you the code off the side of my comp and the disk i loaded it off.....so now i have no idea what to do...its been 30 days and i cant login to the home screen anymore till i do something...im not paying for a new copy of xp

 

Windows Xp Can be problematic with it's Activation code there are ways around it but i am not telling.Is this a OEM CD I am guessing.

Hope you can log in in safe mode with networking by tapping the F8 key during boot...

 

well i got it started in safe mode but that program says this application is not supported in safe mode

 

so knowing that program wont start up there something i can do or

 

nobody? i guess i have a product key for xp media but i installed xp home on the comp...this sucks...

 

Never tried it, but might be able to roll back the date in the BIOS to when Windows was still active...but also don't know if tool will work with date change

 

anyone know how to roll back time to add a few days? special code?

 

Google Rearm or Reset Windows XP. Thats all I can say.

 

well i did rearm it so 29 more days but then trying to find a key to work...sucks i have 2 keys and when i talked to the over seas guy(being polite) and gave him the keys he told me they were wrong and wanted to know where i got them from....told him the sides of my comps....told him i have 6 computers at my house and then he was rude

 

You cannot mix product keys and different Windows editions. Why don't you use the XP Home product key?

 

well i know that lol but with all the comps over the years i believe i mixed up the discs and all....the other code i had should have been the home edition but he said it was no good
