Is your computer connected to a network? I know it's a stupid question, but maybe the network IS busy. If not, then you might want to clarify just a bit more what your problem is.

This could very well be a Denial-of-Service virus or trojan.

Do you have a virus scanner or any spyware removal tools? Or both?

If so, what? If not, let us know!

it said that the network system memory was too low. Now i can log in, but once it loads everything, i cant boot anything up. i do have a virus scan, but i cant open it because it wont let me open anything up. its not the network itself i dont think, its the operating system, i cant get anything open

maybe you know how to do this but here goes anyway:

to change your virtual memory right click my computer>tick properties>tick "advanced" tab>tick "settings" in the Performance box>tick "advanced" tab>tick "change" in the virtual memory box

in the "Virtual Memory" window tick "Custom Size" then type in *both* of the white boxed areas to set your virtual memory the amount of memory you have times 2, for example if you have 256 MB type "512" in both boxes or if you have 512 MB of RAM then type "1024" in both boxes, etc, etc -- then tick "set" ... you must do that or the change will not come into effect ... then tick "OK" "OK" "OK" and im pretty sure you will have to restart your computer

personally i have ALOT of space on my hard disk so i set it to the maximum amount (4096 MB) as you can never have too much ... it all depends on how much space you have left on your hard drive

The above rule is pretty darn antiquated.

IMO, the best thing you can do is run your most intensive programs. Basically, in your computer's most heavily used state, record the commit chrage, and set your virtual memory, min and max, to that size.

Using the above rule, I would be using a 2048mb paging file, while someone with 128mb of ram would be using a 256mb paging file.

    It just doesn't make sense.

true ... i was just trying to make it simpler as i have no idea how much hard drive space he has

hit ctrl-alt-del and see if something supicous looking is using up to much memory. And you could try booting in to safe mode and then running your anti-virus prog.
