Windsock???

    anybody ever hear of this? Technician told my neighbor that this is the reason he can't get online with his cable connection. need help plz. thanks

    It's not winDsock, rather WinSock. Short for Windows Socket. It's a communication layer for TCP/IP and other protocols. TCP/IP is involved in his cable connection but I haven't seen a winsock issue in a long time.

    Can you give us some more background information. Operating System, Errors ocurring etc etc.. The more info you give us, the more likely we are to be able to help.

    i only wrote windsock b/c that's what he was told. I figured it was winsock but i thought it could've been the other word... his OS is WinMe. some problems are that when he open IE... status bar shows that it's looking for his homepage then it change and starts looking for a website called www.incredifind.com and stalls from there. that's about all i have
