WinFixer 2005

OK everybody here is what is going on. A copy of WinFixer 2005 has been installed onto my computer and I cannot get it off. I know most of you would just say well get this program and this and it will get rid of it…. it isn’t that easy.

See the problem is when I try to reboot my computer my AVG Virus Shield try to start up but along with that is the WinFixer 2005. Right when I think I can just close the WinFixer popup…the computer wont work. I can move the mouse but I can’t enter anything. I tried booting the machine up in safe mode but since I had a wireless mouse and keyboard it wouldn’t work when I tried the F8 technique.

So I went and I got my old keyboard and mouse and I can successfully boot up the machine in safe mode, however I can’t click on anything. Also with this different mouse and keyboard in, every time I hit a key on the keyboard the cursor freezes. So I have to reboot it again.

So I ask you for some help, and the thing is if I can’t start up any program or Internet before it freezes how am I supposed to download, install, and run a clean up program?

One again I beg you for help I am desperate and maybe you can help. Any suggestions would be awesome!

I tried to follow this the big problem is when I start up my computer under SafeMode nothing works...i cant open any folders and I can't even open up my Start Menu.

Does the Desktop and icons show in safe mode? If not, try selecting safe mode with networking and then unplug (physically) your cable to the internet. Let me know if that works. Sometimes this does get your Desktop back.

If not, I will give you another procedure to try. We have two other procedures. One is manual which has always worked the other is another somewhat automatic tool but it need safe mode boot too.

But in preparation for this manual cleaning, you must follow the below (this is also the preliminary steps of the Virtumunde fix thread too).

Please follow the steps below:

- Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support

Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.

- Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.

After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis:

yes all my icons as show up but I do not have a my Computer icon and the startmenu fails to open up, I click on it and it just sits there. And it acts as if it is frozen and when I try to do a Ctrl+Alt+Del it doesn't work and my mouse then fails to move. I have a fealing that my computer is completely and entirely fu**ed and I wont fix it. Now I have heard some people say that I could try puting in the Windows XP install disk and it may run normal

to get your log posted properly. We will continue from there. Don't worry! We have fixed hundreds of these Winfixer aka Virtumundo problems. If that is all you have they are not too big a deal. We just need to see what you really have.
