WinFixer

Hi, I have this recurring thing, WinFixer 2005 that keeps installing itself on my computer. I read the sticky post, did all the things required, cleaned out a few adware things. Spybot found an instance of the WinFixer bug, and removed it, but now it has come back. system restore was disabled, hidden files shown, etc. What happens is after I delete it, it stays away for a few hours, then when I open Internet Explorer a popup comes up saying "NOTICE: if your computer has registry errors blah blah blah install winfixer 2005, yes or no, both lead to a redirect that installs it again. I did a hijack this scan and attached it, please help when you get a chance. Thanks!

here's my spysweeper results and a new HJT log; so far nothing else has come up, but it usually takes awhile for it to come back.

 

Download AproposFix by Swandog46

Save it to your desktop or to another folder of its own, but do NOT run it yet!

Now reboot your computer in Safe Mode! (You must be in safe mode or this fix will not work.)

Once in Safe Mode, double-click aproposfix.exe which will give you a chice of where to unzip/install the program to). This is called the Destination folder in the window that popsup. So either install it to the Desktop or the folder where you downloaded the aproposfix.exe file to. It will create a new folder named aproposfix. Open the aproposfix folder and double click on RunThis.bat to run the fix. Follow the prompts.

When the tool is finished, reboot back into normal mode, and post a new HijackThis log, along with the entire contents of the log.txt file that has been created in the aproposfix folder.
