Wininit.exe; Is it dangerous?

I recently tried out a program called ProcessScanner that scans for processes that might cause me problems. The only process that came up as a risk was one called Wininit.exe . I checked a few websites and a lot of it says that it's a dangerous process. However, this is the part where I'm confused.

I used another program called Sysinternals Process Explorer which gives me more information on my active processes. According to this program, this "dangerous" process is the base of a process tree that has many important files for my computer to run.

So now I'm confused whether this process is dangerous or not. Should I be worried or not?

That is because on - the one that lives in c:\windows\ with older OS's is usually a good thing and the other (that lives elseswhere) is a bad thing.

I suspect that you are not using a current version of Windows, so you best check it out.
