Personally, I don't use WinRAR (I like TUGzip) but a friend of mine uses it and he's got a folder with like 25 or more compressed files. If we right click one file, we get the WinRAR options in the context menu, but if we select all the files and right click, the WinRAR options are gone. So I'm assuming that we have to unzip these files one at a time if we use WinRAR. I use TUIGzip all the time and in a situation like this, I always click Edit > Select All then I right click and extract 'em all at the same time. This is kind of a bet; I say WinRAR won't do all the files at once (at least not easily like TUGzip) and my friend is stuck in the "WinRAR is the best thing since shredded lettuce" mind set. So, can we extract all the files in one shot with WinRAR?

    Thanks! ;)

Hmm, if I get your drift, they are all related. Rght-clck the first one and you should get a complete file at the end.

No, it's not one big file that's been RAR'ed into many smaller peices that will combine into the one final file like some big torrent files are done. It's a bunch of different folders that have been zipped over the past 18 months or so (there's a folder with Word docs, a folder with PDFs, a few folders with drivers for different PCs, etc). He's forgotten exactly what's in each folder and is looking to clear some junk off the drive, but he wants to open the folders to be sure he's not throwing out something he needs/wants. The way I see it, if you haven't looked at it in over a year, you don't need it, and it can be deleted. But that's me. ;)

(and upon closer inspection, it's probably closer to 75 or 100 different archives, not the 25 I mentioned before  )

Aah, OK. Then he can just view the folders in WinRAR without unraring by double clicking down the tree.

OK. But lets just say, for the sake of argument or whatever, is it possible to unzip all these archives in one shot with WinRAR? Like I said, I know I can do it with TUGzip, but my friend is totally resistant to change and he'd probably marry WinRAR if they'd let him, so removing WinRAR and installing TUGzip is probably not an option, unless WinRAR cannot easily unzip all the folders in one shot like TUGzip can.

LOL @ marry.rolleyes Highlite the rars and rhgt-clck the first one and open, you will then see each of them when you close as you go along. just tested it.

    Nope...... as I stated above:
There's also some self-extracting exectuables in there and they don't seem to want to abey the rules, and they're trying to 'force' us to do 'em one at a time. So I installed TUGzip along-side his WinRAR just to show him what it was capable of (I didn't set up any associations for TUGzip in case he wanted it removed). So I ended up extracting everything with TUGzip; I clicked Edit up at the top, I chose Select All, and extracted 86 archives and self-extracting EXE files all at once. We couldn't get WinRAR to do everything in one shot, it would have taken probably 3-4 unzipping sessions. My friend finally said "remove WinRAR and leave the TUGzip on there". And this is from a guy who.....
    roflmao LOL
So it all worked out in the end.... Thanks AugDog for the help....
