WinXP automatically setting up hotkeys? HELP!

My computer doesn't always do it, but I noticed that when I'm playing "Day of Defeat" (half life mod), sometimes, my computer will somehow set up hotkeys. For example, I'll be playing fine, then I'll hit "r" to reload, and it will take me to my desktop & pull up "RUN". It sets up some others too. "Tab" will alt+tab me & "e" will pull up windows explorer. Even after I completely exit out of the game, it will continue to do this until I restart my computer, making me think it's a WinXP thing. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

 

something is making your CTRL and Windows key Active.. tried a different keyboard?

 

it only does it when i'm in that game....never any other times.

 

Since NORMALLY Winkey + r brings up Run, and Winkey + e brings up Explorer, the game is activating your Windows key. That's what Kodo said.

Check the controls for the game, to see whether there are any that control keyboard settings. Maybe you can turn off that setting.

Another option: Open TweakUI for XP, click the word Explorer, and UNcheck "Enable Windows+X hotkeys" ... before you start the game.

no, its not a stuck key. lol. checked that already. where can i get TweakUI for XP?
