    Good Day,
WinXP - del - when online doing a virus scan the computer goes into sleep mode then I hit the space bar and I get a blue screen for a few seconds then it shows the login screen and states how many apps are running for the particular user. I have to click on the users icon to get back to the process of the online scanning. Any suggestions as to why this is happening? Would greatly appreciate it!

Do you have power saving set up to put your computer in sleep mode? If so turn it off when your updating your virus settings. I just got XP myself but I believe power settings are still located in control panel.

Also turn off the log in screen when resume option in your desktop settings. Right click on the desktop, go to settings then screen saver tab. there is a check box on the bottom.

I usualy turn off screen savers and power managment features when initiating a lengthy process that doesn't require user input.

Yep... the screen saver could be doing that too. Either disable it or uncheck the box giving the option "On resume, Display the Welcome Screen".
