   hi have been having a boot problem with an xp home sp2 computer. it boots up fast, but when it get to the desk top it stall for about 50 sec then the floppy drive makes a noise as if its looking for a disk. then it works. if i boot up with the adsl modem turned on then it crashes at the login page. have scanned for virus and spyware like in major attitude malware post and came up with nothing. could this be a conflict problem?

   Sounds like a conflict ...go into my computer/device manager and for both the floppy drive and the nic card, check the properties and see if there is a irq conflict ....
