WinXP Firewall

    Hi - I was just wanting to know what the experts think about the Windows XP Firewall. Is it an adequate firewall, or would you recommend that a person use a better one? ... That is for a desktop pc for standard home useage.

    no, the firewall included in winXP sp2 is not a good firewall. it does not block outbound apps.

    personally i use zone alarm free. it will block inbound AND outbound if configered properly. i have mine set so that each app that accesses the internet must ask for permission. of course there are a couple that i have allowed permenet access, firefox, IE, and outlook express.
