WinXP Home SP2 & printer issue

HELP ME PLEASE
i have gone online with lexmark and hp, nothing they have told me is working.
my lexmark 1270, has stopped working. so i uninstalled it, to reinstall with the cd driver, my windows xp is not letting it install. so i went on line to download the new driver, still will not let it install. it looks like this problem is with the parental control according to ms. but i don't have that. please walk me through this.

Are you also logged in as the Admin when installing: yes

what messages are you getting when trying to reinstall these lexmark drivers:

message: 1. instruction at 0x7c91b1fa has failed. referenced memory at 0x0000000010
press cancel to debug or ok to continue.;
that comes on when i reboot before i sign in with my password.

message 2. memory could not be written error ox69532c87 reference "0.00000000"

message 3. failed windows logo testing it will not work correctly etc.....press cancel to exit installion or continue to complete installation; shows up while the installation is almost complete,

update i have finally installed lexmark x1270 printer on my pc. but it's not working correctly. i can print, from pc. but in order to copy or scan i have to use the buttons on the machine.
cannot tell you how excited i was when the icon finally showed up on my tool bar, and on the desk top.

i signed up with utitlitybooster and it found 421 errors or problems and fixed 417 of them.
