Winxp Pro Repair Install Problem

I did a repair install but now when it goes to setup windows and starts installing devices it always stops at 36 mins. Does anyone know what could be causing this.

The time left to finish is a misleading identifier ....it depends on the computer and it's installed devices ....I've had some that sat with 13 minutes left for over two hours ....just have patience.

But shouldint the HD light be blinking showing that its actually doing something.

Does the whats on the screen change?

The stuff on the screen still changes, just that it never took this long when I fist installed winxp

ok I waited like almost 4 hours and still was stuck at 36 min does anyone else know what could be causing it to do this.

Pop it out, clean the cd and pop it back in ...what happens?

nothing happens, do you think the video card I added after I installed it before could be interfiering with the repair isntall.

Very poss....if you have on board video ...remove the card and try the repair install again ...
