I put a wireless pci adapter in my desktop. It's a Windows 7 home 64-bit. I used the disk that came with the adapter to install the drivers and the utility for it. It will not get online. In the device manager it says that it's enabled but when I go to Network and Sharing Center it shows it to be disabled and grayed out. If I click to enable a box will come up and say enabling then enabled but the icon continues to stay gray and disabled. I have googled it and tried many suggestions. Twice it enabled and let me get on the network and get online then after a couple of minutes just disabled and wouldn't let me enable again. I have uninstalled it and gone into safe mode and turned off the AV to install but that didn't help. I am just at a loss at this point. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.

It's Encore ENLWI-N3. I went to their site and downloaded the driver and utility program and it was the same as the one that came in the box. That didn't fix it.

I'm looking through the manual and almost everything is shown for XP. I know it does support windows 7.
Do you have the E showing in your tray? If not, launch the Encore UI.
Have you set up a profile in the Configuration Utility?

I have no experience with using an installed wireless card. My desktops are all wired and the netbooks came with internal wifi chips so I've only ever used Windows 7 setup and not a 3rd party program as you have.

You might want to look on the site for support: http://www.encore-usa.com/select-your-region/#
I don't have a choice for your model so I can go no further in pointing you to the support page.

Everything in the utility program is grayed out and doesn't let me do anything. The couple of times that it did enable the utility did work but it won't when the card is not enabled. I went to the Encore support site and asked on there. Thank you!

I completely uninstalled the antivirus instead of just disabling it then reinstalled the drivers and utility in safe mode with the firewall turned off and finally got it working.
