I have been asked by a friend to find out what's causing him to have a browser problems on his WiFi connection.

He can download E-Mails & update all his protection software no problem, but when he starts either Internet explorer 7 or Mozilla Firefox he cannot get a web page to come up ? :(

    He is using:

    Packard Bell (Easynote) Laptop

    Running Windows XP

Belkin Router (ADSL2 Modem with Wireless G-Router)

Also running Norton Internet Security 2006

Other family members are having no problems with their Laptop Connections
to the same router. I have not yet seen it happen myself, but am due to see him soon, so some tips would help.

    Any ideas..

    Cheers

Just as a test, can you disable Norton and try both browsers to see if they can connect to a safe site like MGs.;)
Possibly an update has changed security settings in Norton for those programs.
(You should be safe enough for an connection test since you are behind a router. Enable Norton as soon as you know if you are successful or not.)
If you can connect when disabled, check program settings in Norton to see if there is a high security setting that is blocking the browsers.
