Can i use any wireless card adapter instead of the usr5140 and get up to the 125/100 speed if the new card is capable or do i have to only use the usr card. I am using the Usr Router.

Typically speaking wireless cards and routers are brand interchangeable...especially among the big brands.

However...you want to make sure your card is the same standard as the router, as in B or G, even thought G is typically backwards compatible with B. Or if the router has any special out of the ordinary features that claim to enhance your experience, then you might be strapped to the same brand in order to take advantage of the extra special features.

But for example...I have a linksys WRT54gs, which is a G router, and has speedbooster capabilities, and my Dlink B card in my old laptop works just fine with it!!

To be on the safe side, though...if you are buying both at the same time...get the matching set in order to avoid any questions.

To use speed boster or any extra high speed options, you need a matching card with matching features.
