I have been using a linksys card with an older laptop (with xp pro) and it was and still works fine (in that old notebook). However, I now have a new notebook (I decided to keep the external card because it´s a little stronger in range (in my humble opinion)) and the thing just never works. Originally, I could see that it was working, with the exception that there was no access. It did tell me all the other wireless folks in the neighborhood, but it was like looking through the window of a candy shop. After days and days of trying everything, I went out and bought another cheap card (Encore) another G which worked right away. However, today, I´m back to using the ethernet cable again as it´s suddenly not working... I´ve checked everything. It´s something with this computer. It just has to be. It´s a brand new Alienware -- pretty much fully loaded. I have had little probs with it so far and maybe this has to do with those problems. Has anyone ever had this problem with wireless cards?
