wireless connected - can't maintain internet connection

I've read the forum and have followed a lot of advice on other forums. I am connected to my Wireless "router." I have had no probelm with this for a number of years. Recented we had a Sality virus attack on our office server and a lot of .exe files were touched. The system has been cleaned and is running virus scan, but I wonder if some system files are missing.

I have a Lenovo T60. Access Connections has generally worked well. I did, however, uninstall and let Windows manage the connection. I am connected to the router. I am able very sporadically to get an internet connection, but only for a minute or so. I can however connect to programs other than browsers for more time, often for an extended period of time - Outlook, update Panda antivirus, etc. IE or Mozilla very rarely connect and when they do only for a minute or so.

I have deactivated Panda antivirus and firewall to see if it is blocking. Internet is allowed in Panda for inbound and outbound and there is not event log of any blocking in Panda.

I've deactivated/activated wireless adapter. I've reset Winsock. DHCP is enabled. Not sure what to do. I can run ipconfig or hijack this reports if that would be helpful.

 

Is it all computers in the office having this problem or just the one PC?

Try restoring router to factory defaults and make sure it has the latest firmware installed. Also how old is the router, could be a hardware problem. Try connecting to one of the computers wired directly and see if you get the problem if so it could be your isp or a problem. You can also try to rollback your wireless driver and see if you get the same problem.
