I am on AOL dialup now. I gave my sister my old computer, she is not on the internet yet. We are getting roadrunner Tuesday. My question is the computer that is going wireless will it have just as good an online experience as the one that has the cable modem amd router hooked up to it? If we are the wireless one, will we have more trouble connecting or being online or are the two computers equal and strong on the internet? Thanks

Sorry if it's confusing, I am a total novice.

Cable internet connection is what we call 10Mbs.. Wireless G is 54Mbs, direct patch cable connection to the router is 100Mbs. So as you can see, both 54 and 100 are greater than 10, hence the lowest common denominator is 10. However, the actual speed of cable is even less than that. The only other factors that can affect your wireless performance is distance from the node and interference. Overall, your internet experience should be near identical.
