Hi, I have been running my laptop off an orange wireless box that connects to my main computer. Mostly I use my laptop, however this morining it was working perfectkly and suddently cut out as if it had no connection. The connection is fine (excellent to be percise), however my email can not connect, neither can firefox or internet expolore. Not even Itunes store can (tried to see if anything could connect and no), however my virus database seems to be able to - as it updated itself. So surely there has to be connection!!

Does anybody know why all my internet seems to have vanished suddenly? I have resarted and turned off and re-booted the laptop to see if this makes any diffrence and guess what - it doesn't!!!

Thanks for any resonces in advanced.
    Mike

Does your laptop see your wireless network? Have you tried restarting/resetting your wireless AP (orange wireless box)?

Unplug the power from the device for approximately 10-15 seconds then plug it back in. See if you can connect and get out to the web.

And just noticed another thing that seems to be happening is firefox is taking ages to load, where as monzilla loads instantly - if that has anything to do with the problem!

    Try this:

    WinXP
Go to Start > Control Panel > *Network Connections > Right-click your wireless adapter and select disable > Right-click your wireless adapter and select enable > verify you connect you YOUR wireless network

    Windows Vista
Go to Start > Control Panel > **Network and Sharing Center > Manage Network Connections > Right-click your wireless adapter and select disable > Right-click your wireless adapter and select enable > verify you connect you YOUR wireless network

*Depending on your view of the control panel (category or classic) it may be listed as Network and Internet Connections > Network Connections

**Depending on your view of the control panel (home or classic) it may be listed as Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Center

Let me know if you are able to access the web after that.
