I live out in the boonies & am looking for a faster connection. There's a wireless service which transmits by antenna at broadband speed, but I'm wondering about how secure it is BEFORE my transmissions reach the provider's firewall. Am I correct in assuming the signal & info can be hijacked just like a city's hotspots? If so, is there a remedy?
Happy New Year to ALL & thanks for your continued support:)

Yes they could be, but this is a subject you will have to take up with the company providing the service to find out what security measures they have in place. I would assume that some kind of encryption is being used and that users have to have some kind of security code/ID to enter to access the network. I would assume that the whatever encryption and security measures are used that it must be transmitted from your PC in a form that is already encrypted; otherwise you would be insecure.
