wireless Mouse - Help!!

I have a new computer (HP m1080n) with a wireless mouse that came with it. At first I thought the wireless mouse was just too sensitive because whenever I try to scroll across and do a copy/paste with the left clicker, it only goes a short distance and then the "pop up" screen appears (which I thought was only supposed to come up when the right clicker was used). Anyway, I put a wired mouse on and it worked fine. Is there something I can do to eliminate the pop up coming up anytime I use the left clicker on the wireless? Although this is the first time I've used a wireless mouse, I went back to the store and checked out a wireless mouse on a display system and it worked fine (as well as a wired mouse). Is there anything I can do to correct this problem or is my mouse defective? I'd appreciate any help. thanks!

 

what brand of wireless is it? make sure the receiver isn't too close to your speakers or monitor. also, check for updated software/drivers.

 

What does it do when you right click?
Sounds to me like the left and right buttons have been switched.
If you open up Mouse in control panel, under the Buttons tab, the "Switch primary and secondary buttons" box should be un-checked.

 

Thanks for the input. It's an HP wireless mouse that came with the system. I already downloaded the latest drivers and reset the bios. The button's are not switched. I called HP service last night and they believe I have a defective mouse. They're sending me a new one so I'll see if that fixes it.
