I’m sure everyone’s seen these keyboards online. Our old one stopped working completely after about half a year of use. So we ordered a new one of the same model, from the same seller on Amazon. Unfortunately I connected the new usb dongle receiver and yet after saying everything was correctly installed, it won’t work right.

    How so?

Well the keyboard works fine but the trackpad doesn’t. I can right click, and left click but I cannot move the pointer whatsoever. The cursor just doesn’t move. I thought it might be a Windows 7 update that applied automatically and installed a Synaptics driver/mouse software on our laptop pretty much the day after the old controller ruined. It wasn’t there before... and it doesn’t list the wireless trackpad as a device either, yet it looks like Device Manager says all it’s generic drivers are installed.

It’s been a couple of weeks now... we’ve been really busy with a three year old. However I’ve tried all of the following:

    - Using System Restore points all the way to the first one listed
    - Uninstalling the unfortunately self installed Synaptics Driver + software completely
    - Full system scan with Eset antivirus
    - Malware and Spyware scans
    - Carefully analyzing Device Manager for issues

I mean I’ve tried it all and this would typically be a simple fix. Hell I’m not a rookie at this I’ll desolder and solder a new damn capacitor on a board while installing new board drivers on another hunting them down online... geez I mean I even fixed a third party external drive before by somehow finding its firmware on some Thai site after a sever brownout rendered it useless.

But this has me stressed and confused. I’ve spent countless hours trying to figure out a solution. Please brothers (and sisters), help me out here.

    Sincerely
    Long time Major Geeker,

    Thanks!

    P.s.
The built in laptop trackpad has always worked and still does. Right now I have the laptop using the oldest restore point possible prior to setting up the new wireless device.

Got the third remote in the mail. When I insert the usb dongle for the new one, it just connects/disconnects the usb dongle on its own infinitely. I have to manually remove it in the physical form.

I have no idea what’s going on... how could it be that 3 wireless controllers seize to work?

I have some backing up to do on that laptop and I’m a little afraid to connect a usb hdd to it in case it tries to do something funny to the external.

Thoughts on getting the controller to work? I’ve got back pain from getting up so many times to switch things.

    Thank You
