Wireless network card

I have a dell vostro 1500 which I had to format and reinstall windows xp.
Everything worked out ok, I installed all the drivers from the disk that came with it but the wireless card does not work and keeps telling me the driver is not installed. It is an Intel Pro card. I went to their website and tried the driver from there too. I also tried going to the hardware and having windows update the driver from online and the disk but it won't take.Any help would be appreciated.

Just a quick update. I also tried to uninstall it and reinstall but that didn't work.
I opened up the laptop and took the card out and put it back in but that also didn't help.

I'm not clear if you went to Intel or Dell for the driver.
Here is the list of wireless drivers from Dell

I'd download all the wireless (except the one that says Japan only and the one that says except US and Japan). Create a restore point, try a driver and see if it works; if not use the restore point. Try another driver and again if it doesn't work, go back to the original restore point.

You my friend are a genius. I am an idiot. I was at the Intel site for the drivers. The dell site had the right driver. Thank you so much for your help !

You're welcome - be sure to burn the correct drivers to a CD so if you need to reinstall windows again, you don't have to search again for all the correct drivers.
