I have a wireless network. A novice here :) Don't know the name of the device that the ethernet cables go into, but was wondering if I bought a new one of those, can I connect it to a computer in the bedroom with the comcast cable and link it to the same wireless network I have in the front of the house? Or do I have to setup a whole new 2nd wireless network?

You can get an access point which will just pick up your current wireless network and relay the wireless signal. They just extend the signal really. It's cheaper than getting a new router but not sure on the specifics of setting one up; shouldn't be too difficult though...

Does the computer in the bedroom need to connect through a wire or can it connect wirelessly since the access point is going to need to be in wireless range of your first router I think.

I think you are trying to use 2 modems for one account. I'm not sure if you can do that. You may have to run a cat5 cable from your wireless router to the new computer or easier still get a wireless adapter so your new computer can connect to the existing network.

Thanks for reply. My employer requires me to connect their computer to the router with an ethernet cable. I would like to move their computer to the back bedroom, instead of up front where I have all the router, my home computer etc all set up. I originally thought of running a 120 foot ethernet cable from up front, under the house, and up into the bedroom. Some drilling holes etc, was thinking maybe could setup something else in the bedroom (e.g. another router), and plug the work system into that with the ethernet cable?

why not reverse the entire set up move the modem to that room where you want the computer, you mentioned you have a comcast hook up in that room, plug the router in there and company the computer then have your wireless network broadcast from that room.
