My buddy has an Alienware Aurora m9700 Laptop. 32 Bit and running Win7. It was working fine until about a month ago, when he connected it to his in-laws LAN. Now he cannot connect via wireless. I have had him check everything that I know, in order to get it working again.

It detects, but he said when he tries to connect wireless it gives him an error, I don't know the whole message but "eepro....." That sounds like an EEPROM error and wouldn't that be the wireless card? I tired having him check the settings, to automatically detect settings, but I can only do so much over the phone and he hasn't had the time to bring it to me.

I think it's either the wrong driver, or the card itself.

    Any ideas?

I even tried to have him release the IP settings and uninstall and reinstall the wireless and LAN card.
