Wireless Problem

Hi

Ive just bought a peak wireless router and I am busy trying to share out my internet connection between two computers. I have one of the wireless dongles working but the other one will not connect to the router. But each one will connect if the other machine is not running. I am about to pull my hair out please can someone help.

 

clear the dhcp table in the router, make sure the router is set up to connect to more than one source.
if that doesn't work, check to make sure both computer have obtain ip automatically from server enabled and they both don't have a static ip entered.

 

In fact, while both are running trying to connect, go to RUN, type in CMD, when the window pops up type IPCONFIG /RELEASE, then IPCONFIG /RENEW on both of them

 

thanks guys worked a treat . Now I just need to find a signal booster, do you know any cheap ones? Or something good but affordable should i say

 

What type of router do you currently have? The easiest way i've found to boost your signal is to buy another more powerful antennae for it. There are a lot of them that you hook an external powersupply to and it boosts the signal of the router.

here for instance you'll see there are a bunch of antenna upgrades. try to find one that fits your model router. usually they are sorted by connection type. let me know your router model type and i'll help narrow it down.

by the way, getting signal boosters that plug in separate of the router can get messy.
