I am trying to share my wireless connection with my neighbor. I have a D-Link DI-624 with a Wireless antenna. I am using a D-Link DWL-710 AP in the neighbors house. We have also placed a D-Link Wireless card in their desktop.

I have configured the DLW-710 with the gateway of the DI-624's IP address. I have also made sure it has found the network for the DI-624.

I can take my laptop over to their house and connect just fine at good speed, with a strong connection. However their computer says trying to obtain IP address constantly. I even tried to manually configure the IP address by placing one in the proper string of IP addresses from the router. That gets me to google.com but that is as far as I can get.

If you're trying to share your ISP with your neighbor... you don't really need to configure anything on their router. I think your neighbors PC (lets just call it "B") is trying to connect to DI-624, instead of your router DWL-710.
Have you checked the "available wireless network" setting within windows?
Do you see your DWL from the pc B? If you can't see it you can't connect. If you see it, high light it and click Connect (with security settings if you have them set). Now about the google page... it might just be a cached file...

Fixed! Wireless works with Google and Laptop

    :D
    Fixed

Changed the channel to 11 from 6 and placed a pringles can antenna on the PC.

Still don't know what happened with Google.

    Thanks

You can use either wire mesh or a pringles can. Obviously the reflective side.

Yeah it works great. I did not do any specific test as far as antenna gain and such but the meter on the PC is pegged now.
