On Monday 10th September 2012, I downloaded Wise Care 365 Pro when it became available for free download on Majorgeeks.

I have no issues with it. Today, I went to update it. It said if I updated it it would change from the Pro version to the Free version.

What are other people doing? Am I better keeping the Pro version but never updating? Would you change to the Free version and update?

Keep it for free and enjoy the ride. If you like the program you can purchase it in 6 months or a year. Updates usually add bug fixes and rarely new features except for when they do a larger version number change. Glad you are enjoying your free software.

Thanks for the response, Major Attitude.

Can I just clarify because I don't feel clear on what you said. Are you recommending that I run the update, which will change the version of Wise Care?

    Thanks

No, because it will then go back to limited shareware. Keep it for as long as you can without updating so you can enjoy the full version.

Mark - MA is saying to keep the Pro version (not run the update) for as long as the time period allows before you need to buy it [my interpretation].

Thanks for you reply. I thought keeping the Pro version would better. I assume it will have a better range of features and functions.

Thanks. That was what I thought, too. I just wasn't absolutely sure.

Close. Rarely is it better, that's bad marketing, rather you usually get more utilities and sometimes auto updating is extra. either way, you got it. Enjoy :)

I suppose that simply saying it was "better" is rather vague. I infer that the free and pro versions function in the same manner. I was referring to the fact that there's usually more functions in a paid for version. For example, I use a number of freeware programmes. Each one has functions that will only become operable if I purchase a registration key.
