Luckily I will be in my office at that time and nowhere near roads in Herts, wonder if I should alert local travel news station to make sure all forms of transport and critters are safe and off the roads @ 11:42am :) ;)

    but

    GOOD LUCK mate :)

You'll do just fine McA...it's the rest of the poor beggers on the road I feel sorry for :p

    Good luck buddy :)

Good luck McA. I'm sure you'll do okay. You can think too much about these things, if you know what I mean.

And if you don't pass the first time, it' not a huge deal, just a matter of waiting a few weeks to have another go. It’s AFTER you get the licence that the real stress begins, trust me!

    Good Luck, anywho! ;)

Dammit, you're not allowed to do your driving test! I've not done mine yet! And you're younger than me!

    *grumble grumble* punk kids...

    Hehe, good luck mate ;)

    T-Minus 2hrs 40mins to D-Day!

Relax and dont stress it, dont know what your roadds are like for traffic at that sort of time but here is tends to be a bit quieter, which makes it a bit easier to get around.

Well I went for 11:41 because it wouldn't be school rush time or rush hour, so hopefully the roads of Watford will be ok!

    I've woken up sh1tting it!!!

Don't sweat it, the feelings that you are having are normal! Just be calm and you should ace the test. Best wishes!:)

    mcadam Major Amnesia

    Haha, I wish!!!!

I'm trying to stay calm, just these butterflies in my stomach are being a pain!

Gotta do a checklist to make sure I've got everything -

    • Licence, photocard and paper part
    • Letter from DSA about test today
    • Theory pass certificate
    • Theory pass letter
    Anything else I need?

Getting picked up in 40 mins for my lesson....

Sorry to hear that McA, what did you fail on?

but do put in for the test again straight away, I failed my first one.... driving examiner panic'd when on a narrow road a taxi came straight at us, NUT emergency braked  when the taxi was at fault.

put in for test the following month and passed with flying colours... even had the head examiner doing the test, most of the pro drivers all failed their first test.

Bah! thay tested you wrong.... yea thats it.... Im sure thay will test you right next time ;)..

But realy if you think to much and make a huge deal about it. You will feel like crap and
wont do as good. I know, just chill :). Its not like thare ganna shot you if you fail. You just half to take it again....

Sorry you didn't pass the first time, McA, but like the guys said, it's no big deal, just a bit more of a wait. Not sure what the deal is in the U.K. nowadays, as it's been a looong time since I've taken a driving test there, but I think it's something like a 28 day wait. Anyway, you'd know more than me about that.

I suspect, maybe nerves got the better of you. Well, you should breeze through it next time, then.

I was approaching a roundabout, took it ok, took the exit ok and the road went into 2 lanes and I stayed in the right lane until he prompted me to go into the left lane, that's what I was failed for.

Got 5 minor faults otherwise, and you're allowed 15, for those that don't know.

Next test is booked for 29th March :)

Cannot see why that would be classed as a major fail, IIRC you are allowed if the roundabout is two lanes wide to if your on the near to side of the center of the RaB to use the right hand lane? depends what on your inside I guess.. if it was free then suppose you should have pulled into the left lane, guess their quota of fails is low this month!

I don't think you would fail just for not keeping to the left on one occasion?

That's pretty strict. Anyway, good luck for the next one.

Remember, money works when everything else doesn't. :)

    mcadam Major Amnesia

Haha I don't think the DSA would take that somehow....

Sorry to hear McA. I guess it was the "keep left unless overtaking" rule that kicked in. Good luck on the 29th :)

Sorry to hear you didn't pass man. I failed my test twice and its not pleasant. I found there to be a lot of luck in a driving test too - the examiner you get, the mood they're in, the route they take you, and most importantly, what happens on that route. Just chalk it up to learning and all the best for the 29th.
Hope it works out better next time.

Sorry to hear you didn't make it this time.
As others have said, you will. I know I didn't pass my first time either.

I agree with Quicksilver that there is some luck involved, too.

    Good luck next time.

My parents have said that there's a lot of luck involved in it, as Quicksilver pointed out...shame huh!

Ah well, got a St. Patrick's Day gig tomorrow, that's gonna be interesting!

It's not really luck, just depends on the person you get.

Some of them are absolute idiots.

  27. Huggamonsta!

Round here it honestly is luck. I passed. and that was NOT a good decision of the examiner. i screwed up lanes on a roundabout etc.. but the examiner was just in a good mood. I hope you get a nice person next time!!!

The examiner I got made me reverse park from the right-hand side, something that caught me off guard and that I've never tried.

He was great though. He was more interested in eating his smelly tuna and onion sandwich than on my driving. :)

Well my oldest daughter flunked summer school drivers ed because the instructor said she didn't have time to teach her how to drive! This was in one of the best high schools in the area. She took it again in the fall and after she passed the next instructor was arrested and put in the penitentiary for child molestation. My younger daughter then took drivers ed at the same school and the class was at night and she learned to drive at night.
