Win XP Pro SP2. On the desktop, there's something called WLinstaller.exe (see the pic below). I did a quick Yahoo search, and the top two results rec'd warning for being possibly malware sites, and the following 3 pages or so all looked pretty shady (lots of file sharing type sites with 'mega' and 'rapid' and 'upload' in the names/descriptions). It's not a big deal, and I'll probably just delete it, but I'm a bit wary of clicking on any of the sites from the search results, especially since it isn't my PC (I would never have a "mystery" .EXE file on my desktop). So, any info out there?

    Thanks.

    Hi dlb

Its a version of the Windows Live installer that installs Windows Live Messenger, Live Desktop Mail, Live Writer, Live Movie Maker and Live Photo Gallery, its a installer setup app, so that you connect online and choose what of the Live apps you wish to install, Icon is exactly like the ones I have, the beta version of Live apps listed have a name of wlsetup-webWave3.exe etc

    These apps http://home.live.com/

If the apps aboev or any of them are already installed yes delete the installer as its not needed.
