Windows Media Player cannot play the file because a network error occurred. The server might not be available. Verify that you are connected to the network and that your proxy settings are correct.

I am trying to see mlsnet.com soccer games and this error comes up. I have followed instructions: I am hooked up to the internet and have clicked tools options network but to no avail.

    any help

Do you have a firewall? Does it work in IE?

thanks. That was it. Somehow Zone Alarm Windows Media Player Program changed from "allow" to "blocK". I KNEW it was okay so I didn't check it. Thanks for the help and a little humble pie is always good for the digestion
