WMP won't play on LCD TV...

Hi All,

I have a minor problem that I need some help with. I have a Gateway *older* laptop, XP operating system, running Windows Media Player 11. I have a LCD TV and I have my laptop hooked up to it so I can watch movie files my BF sends me.

The TV works fine as a big monitor, and WMP even opens and runs when I try to watch my movies, but while my laptop shows the movie the TV doesn't, ie no picture on TV. Funny thing, it worked last week but it doesn't now. I have the laptop hooked up via S-Cable and with the cable that looks like a monitor port and an audio cable with the green tip like a mic cord for a PC. It was on hooked up with the cables I just hooked up the S-cable today to see if that works.

Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated. OH, be simple cause I'm not so compute literate. Thank you all ahead of time.
