WMV will not play video

    Any WMV will not play the video when part of any download attachment, say like on an email etc. The audio plays. I've trired other players and no video. Use AVG and wonder if this is preventing video from playing.

    Try VLC player. If it can play it then you probably need a codec for WMP to be able to play it. If VLC can't play it I would suspect a corrupt download.

    You don't specifically say if you're trying to play .wmv files in Windows Media Player, I assume you are. When did .wmv files or video last display correctly? Could be a number of things, some more info might save time in finding out what. What other players did you try the video in?
