Running a soyo 5EHM mobo. Only have power supply and HD hooked to it, and still can'y get speaker to beep. Yes, I have second speaker in now, neither will beep. Both should be good. I have no hair left! What to do?

Dang, that is an old mobo. Anyhow, do you have a working CPU and RAM (if using SIMMs must be in pairs) connected as well?
If you are positive the other parts are in working condition then the mobo could be dead especially if you have the case speaker connected to it properly yet no beeps come out (could be CPU too).
Also the PSU is working right? Can you check to see if you are getting power to the case or at least the PSU fan is working?

Fans come on, HD starts to run then just stops. Using SDRAM but none is in right now, trying to get speaker to beep. tried other mobo and cpu. running sdramm, not in now, trying to get a beep. Still won't boot up. It's the kids computer. Will probably be scalp-less before this is all over:)

What speaker are you expecting a beep out of? It won't come out of your normal desktop speakers.

If this is where you're looking for it, you probably don't have your case speaker connected to the motherboard.

P.S. You'll need to check in your motherboard's manual to find out where to hook up the speaker.

"(if using SIMMs must be in pairs)"

btw, SDRAM does not need to be in pairs.

    NOT IN RIGHT NOW???
You must have some kinda of RAM installed, if you didn't have any RAM installed then the BIOS would detect that and the case speaker would still beep but I am not sure if your case speaker is connected properly or at all?

Also as Wyatt suggested make sure you are not referring to your desktop speakers!, you would only get beeps out of your case speaker and only if it is connected to the mobo properly and in working condition. If all those conditions are satisfied then the only 2 other logical possibilities would be: Dead CPU or bad mobo.
Make sure you have the CPU seated properly, make sure you have only 1 stick of working SDRAM installed (if using SIMM type then again use them in pairs), make sure your case speaker is connected to your mobo properly check the mobo manual if you dont have one check the manufacturer's web site.

Correct I have no ram installed to try to get speaker to beep.I have manual and case speaker is installed proper.I tried diff. cpu and still no beep from speaker.Ive tried diff. mobo w/other cpu and still no beep. This is why Im hairless at this point. :(

So you pretty much tried everything else but another case/case speaker?
